A huge thanks to all who came to our show recently… we had over 800 visitors.
‘A most satisfying show with a range of exhibits to suit all interests’ – that was the general opinion of visitors to the model railway exhibition held in Colne last November. Organised by Pendle Forest Model Railway Society the exhibition was well attended and visitors were able to see well detailed railway layouts in various scale with a range of themes varying from steam trains in rural scenery to the very latest modern diesel trains passing through detailed urban landscapes. Our friends from Creil , France, were with us and several of the layouts had working lineside features – even to the extent of a shop on the Society’s own layout with working televisions in the window!
Visitors were eager to study the models and whilst adult modellers were able to talk about the model railway hobby younger enthusiasts get could close up to some of the larger models on show or try running a train themselves on the Society’s ‘Drive a train’ layout
‘As you can imagine a good deal of effort goes into putting on our exhibitions’ said a Society spokesman, ‘but all our work was amply repaid by the enthusiastic response of this year’s visitors. It is always a pleasure to meet people who share our interest and we look forward to seeing them again at our next annual exhibition on November 14th – 15th 2020.
